About the Chair
Shanna L. Moore, Global Director of Sustainability, DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers
With over two decades of experience in the packaging market Shanna has become an expert in global market trends and drivers with a deep understanding of packaging applications, materials and market needs.
Shanna has been deeply involved in Sustainable Packaging since 2005 where she developed the SBU strategy for Sustainability and has served as the Global Sustainability Director since 2009. Prior to her current role, Shanna served as Global Market Manager, Packaging & Sustainable Materials managing the Global Packaging Portfolio.
Shanna was elected to the Executive Committees of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition in 2008, serving a three year term and currently serves on several influential industry committees. She is a founding member, officer and board member of AMERIPEN, a new packaging association founded in early 2011.
About the Speakers
Jerry Schwartz, Senior Director, Energy and Environmental Policy, American Forest & Paper Association
Jerry Schwartz is the Senior Director of Energy and Environmental Policy at the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA). Jerry is responsible for developing and implementing association energy and water policy. Jerry is also the Sustainability Team Leader for AF&PA and led AF&PA's effort to develop Better Practices Better Planet 2020, a set of five specific, challenging sustainability goals for the forest products industry.
Before joining AF&PA, he owned a litigation support consulting firm, traveled around the world for a year with his wife, and worked in the Environmental Enforcement Section of the Department of Justice and EPA, primarily working on hazardous waste enforcement issues.
Victor Bell, President, Environmental Packaging International
Victor Bell is President of Environmental Packaging International (EPI), a consultancy specializing in global environmental packaging and product stewardship requirements. Mr. Bell, who founded EPI in 1998, is a Certified Packaging Professional with more than 20 years of experience with environmental issues associated with packaging and products. EPI has provided assistance to major companies worldwide in the electronics, retail, toy, soft drink, cosmetics, medical, and general merchandise industries.
EPI provides consulting on a range of product stewardship issues. EPI clients include companies such as The Estée Lauder Companies, Coca-Cola, Cisco, Hasbro, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft, MeadWestvaco, Microsoft Corporation, Nike, The J.M. Smucker Company, Starbucks, TetraPak, and Walmart. Mr. Bell has served on the Executive Committee of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and is currently serving on the Global Packaging Project and ISO Packaging Standard committees.
Mr. Bell has MMA (Marine Affairs) and BS (Natural Resource) degrees from the University of Rhode Island and an MS (Urban and Environmental Studies) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
