Getting Around Minneapolis

Public transportation
Minneapolis is blessed with one of the largest public transit systems in the country. Busses and taxis are readily available at the MCC and at most hotels. Use MetroTransit's Trip Planner for easy door-to-door directions. Read more.

Taxi Service
The Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport is located approximately 12 miles (approx. 20-30 minutes) from the Minneapolis Convention Center. Taxis are available for approximately $25 - $30 each way. Taxi stands are located around the downtown area or a taxicab can be hailed from your hotel within minutes. Taxis within downtown area cost approximately $5 - $10.

Super Shuttle
Super Shuttle operates service from the airport to the participating hotels (please call 1/800 BLUE-VAN or visit www.supershuttle.com for fare and schedule information). The rate is $18 one way and $36 round trip per person. Departures from the airport are approximately every 30 minutes. No reservations are needed from the airport. Professionally staffed customer service desk is located at the ground transportation area in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport.

Midway Station
Served by Amtrak. Located approximately 8 miles from the Minneapolis Convention Center at 730 Transfer Road, St. Paul. Taxis are available for approximately $15 each way.

Bus Terminal
Served by Greyhound and Jefferson Lines. Located approximately 6 blocks from the Convention Center.

Metro Transit
Getting to and from your hotel, Minneapolis Convention Center and most of downtown's major shopping and restaurant locations is easy. Just board any Metro Transit bus heading the direction you want to go and pay $1.75 (non-rush hour) and $2.25 (rush hour – weekdays 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 pm - 6:30 p.m.). Buses run regularly during the day and evening hours, with service every 5 - 15 minutes depending on the time of day. Light Rail (LRT) - Metro Transit
Light Rail travels between 5 th Street from the Warehouse District through Minneapolis Downtown and continues along Hiawatha Avenue to Historic Fort Snelling. Trains serve both Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America. Designed to work in tandem with other public transportation, Metro Transit routes connect with rail stations and provide transfers to be used within 2½ hours. Skyways
One of Mineapolis' most unique assets is the skyway system. Linking most of downtown with above-ground climate-controlled walkways, the system will get you from the Minneapolis Convention Center to most spots in downtown Minneapolis without ever stepping outside. Read more.
