Abstract:

  • Why must production personnel implement safeguards to capture and remove tramp metals?
  • What are Magnetic Separators?
  • What are Metal Detectors
  • How do they differ?

Frequent and recent recalls of food and other common products are constant reminders of the importance of maintaining product quality and the need to ensure that final products are free from all types of contaminants. Regardless of the industry, product recalls are a manufacturer's nightmare. The financial costs can be measured - often in millions of dollars-- but the non-tangible effects such as consumer perception can result in even greater damage. Foreign contaminants must be removed from final products in a host of industries, including food processing, plastics and pharmaceuticals. This presentation will assist professionals to better understand and learn the differences in equipment used to capture foreign materials and avoid contamination of the final product.

Intended audience: Production Personnel, Food Quality Personnel and Safety Managers
