Mr. George D. Dumbaugh graduated from “Ole Miss” (University of Mississippi) with a B.S. degree in Mechanca; Engineering. He is President of Kinergy Corporation, but remains active as a practicing Professional Engineer.
For more than 40 years, he has been dedicated to the advancement of vibratory machines for use in material handling systems. He stirred considerable controversy in 1978 when he formally published the “Drive vs. Load” analysis of any vibratory machine, introduced the concept of “Induced Vertical Flow”, and predicted the same kind of vibratory drive could power all the different kinds of “Induced Conveying” machines. In this specialized field of professional endeavor, he has more than 45 U.S. and International patents.

He has worked extensively as a process and operational hazards consultant for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. Dr. Ebadat is a regular speaker at training courses on gas and vapor flammability, dust explosions, and controlling electrostatic hazards. Jack is a graduate of Penn State University with a BSME and Masters Degree in Engineering Science and is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.
He has worked in the field of bulk material handling and dust collection for nearly 40 years, having help positions in field service, engineering, sales and marketing and senior management.
Since 2004, Jack has been continuing his career as a consultant with Pneumatic Conveying Consultants LLC based in Allentown, Pennsylvania and has been a contributing speaker at numerous trade conferences and technical seminars as well as partnering with his associate Paul Solt to conduct the quarterly webinars sponsored by Powder Bulk engineering and he and Paul also continue to author the quarterly Pneumatic Conveying Points to Ponder Series.
Jack's academic training, combined with his years of practical field experience result in a unique approach to sharing his experience with others.
Industries such as Petrochemical, Minerals, Cement, Power Generation, Food and Chemicals are the areas where Jack has spent the majority of his career and those same industries continue to be where Jack can be found if not in the office doing detailed engineering work.

Dr. Kerry Johanson began his career in powder flow and material handling as a summer lab technician with Jenike & Johanson in Billerica, Massachusetts during his high school and undergraduate years. After receiving his BS in 1985, he spent 14 years with JR Johanson, Inc. in San Luis Obispo California, finally serving as their Chief Technical Officer. He received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University in 1994 and in 2000, he branched out and moved to Florida, where he divides his time researching at the University of Florida Particle Engineering Research Center and serving as the Chief Operations Officer for Material Flow Solutions, Inc., the consulting firm he founded in 2001. He has authored 40+ technical papers which have been published in numerous technical journals internationally. He has developed a course for teaching powder flow and technology to graduate students and mentored three recent doctoral graduates at the University of Florida. Dr. Johanson has presented numerous industry seminars on the topic of powder flow in industrial applications. Married for 31 years, he is the father of six children, and a grandfather to 4. He holds the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, and continues to serve as a Scout leader in his community. Dr. Johanson holds PE licenses in both Florida and Utah and is an active member of AAPS, AIChE, ASME, and ASTM.

Gary Q. Johnson

Gary Q. Johnson is an Industrial Ventilation and Combustible Dust consultant specializing in developing containment, industrial ventilation, and procedural solutions for workplace exposures and providing maintenance and troubleshooting training to sustain results. He has broad experience across several manufacturing processes from his 27 year tenure with Procter & Gamble and from 10 years consulting since leaving P&G. He has been helping clients address gaps from best practice or NFPA requirements and by providing technical training.
He is a frequent presenter and trainer at Powder & Bulk Solids Conferences, Powder & Bulk Engineering webinars, and Industrial Hygiene conferences around the country as well as an author of several magazine articles on containment, industrial ventilation, and combustible dust. He is also a trainer for the OSHA Training Institute.
As a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering team developing the second edition of the 2008 Oral Solid Dose Baseline Guide, he was a co-leader of the EH&S Chapter team. He is also a former member of the American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists Ventilation Committee during the time it issued the 25th and 26th editions of Industrial Ventilation, A Recommended Practice for Design, and the 1st edition of Industrial Ventilation, A Recommended Practice for Operation and Maintenance.
Prior to Procter & Gamble, he served in the US Navy and was qualified in nuclear propulsion operations and in submarines.

Professor Mark Jones is Head of the School of Engineering, Director of TUNRA Bulk Solids Handling Research Associates and has held the Chair in Bulk Solids Handling at the University of Newcastle since 1999. His research interests span the broad area of Bulk Materials Handling and he specialises in pipeline transport. He has worked with many multi-national companies in the US, Europe, South America, India, China, Russia and South Africa. He has been a Member of Council of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), London, Chairman of the UK National Bulk Material Handling Committee and Member of the Board of the CRC for Integrated Engineering Asset Management. He is currently Honorary Secretary of the Australian Society for Bulk Solids Handling, Vice-President of the International Federation of Measurement and Control of Granular Materials and has been appointed Guest Professor of Central South University, Changsha, China.

David Mills graduated in 1961 from Woolwich Polytechnic in London with a first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering. He first worked in industry as a nuclear engineer with Atomic Power Constructions Ltd and then in academia as a thermodynamicist at Thames Polytechnic, specialising in heat and mass transfer. He undertook a PhD programme on Pneumatic Conveying in 1973 and has been working in this area ever since, first at the University of Greenwich in London, then as Professor of Bulk Solids Handling at Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. Since 1997 he has been operating as an independent consultant. He has written over 200 articles for technical journals and conferences, and has presented short courses and undertaken consultancy on a worldwide basis. In 2003 he was appointed Conjoint Professor at the University of Newcastle in Australia and in 2007 he received the UK Institution of Mechanical Engineers Solids Handling Award in recognition of his professional excellence in bulk solids handling technology. He is author of the 'Pneumatic Conveying Design Guide' (SI units) (Second Edition) and the 'Handbook of Pneumatic Conveying Engineering' (US units), both published in 2004. He has been associated with the Rosemont Powder & Bulk Solids Conference since it first started in 1976.

He established the TUNRA Bulk Solids Handling Research and consulting group of the University of Newcastle in 1975. In the 35 years of its existence, this group has completed some 3000 projects for approximately 1500 companies in Australia as well as in 40 other countries world wide. Prior to joining Hapman, Josh was employed by the Thermal Systems division of BorgWarner Inc. a Fortune 500 automotive supplier. As the Lead Engineer for Thermal Innovation, Josh was responsible for the division’s innovation and advanced product research and development activities. In this role Josh pioneered BorgWarner’s vehicle electrification strategy and led the development of an industry changing dual mode coolant pump technology.
Prior to his move into the automotive industry, Josh worked as a project engineer for a small contract engineering company based in Richmond, VA that focused on the design of custom consumer goods packaging and automation equipment.
Josh currently holds 4 US patents with 10 others in application.
Josh received a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA in 2001. While at VCU, Josh’s graduate research was focused in the use of high intensity acoustics for accelerating reactions in chemical processing. Dr. Trottier is a research scientist in the Solids Processing Discipline of Engineering Sciences at The Dow Chemical Company. He has over 20 years of industrial experience in particle characterization, aerosol science, air filtration and solids processing technology. Dr. Trottier has authored some 20 papers and has served as an instructor for several short courses on particle characterization.
Prior to joining Dow, Dr. Trottier was a senior scientist in the physical measurement group within the Analytical Chemistry Division at the Alcoa Technical Center. He supervised the particle characterization laboratory where he developed several particle characterization methods.
Dr. Trottier received his B.Sc. (1983) and M.Sc. (1987) degrees in Applied Physics from Laurentian University in Canada, and his Ph.D. (1996) in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University of Technology in the UK. During the course of his education, Remi received most of his formal training in particulate technology from Dr. Brian Kaye, who was one of the most renowned authorities in this field.
