New England’s Event for the Medical Device and Biopharma Development and Manufacturing Marketplace
BIOMEDevice—An MD&M Event serves the heavily concentrated medical device and biopharma markets in Massachusetts and its immediate surrounding area.
Massachusetts and California (where the companion BIOMED event is held) attracted a combined 60 percent of the $58 billion in medical devices and biotechnology venture capital in the U.S. during the past decade. Further underscoring this is the Life Sciences Law approved by the Massachusetts state legislature, containing $1 billion in capital, tax incentives, and bond issues.
The BIOMEDevice exposition includes 300 leading suppliers to the medical device and biopharma industry, while the BIOMEDevice forum will focus on convergence and cross-sector collaborations among companies in the biotechnology, medical device, IVD, and pharmaceutical industries.
The BIOMEDevice forum examines the timeliest and critical issues surrounding enabling technology for R&D, product development, design, engineering, and regulatory affairs professionals within the medical device industry. The forum provides medical technology executives the information they need to stay ahead of their competition through a series of keynote presentations, case studies, and high-level technology sessions. Past sessions have focused on sector specific areas of: Cardiovascular, Neurotechnology, Accessing Global Medtech Markets, and Targeted Drug Delivery and Diagnostics.
The forum is developed in partnership with MassMedic, Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, and the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council.
Just some of the key companies in attendance include 3M, Abbott Laboratories, Baxter, Bayer MaterialScience, Boston Scientific, Bristol-Myers Squibb, C. R. Bard, Covidien, DePuy, GE, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Siemens, Stryker, Zimmer.
