DEVENS, MA, April 2009 – Bionostics announced its UniDose Glucose Meter Check Control was selected to receive a 2009 Medical Design Excellence Award in June. The UniDose Glucose Meter Check Control replaces the traditional bottle of glucose control solution and lets diabetics easily test the accuracy of their blood glucose test system. Glucose test systems should be tested whenever results are not as expected, if meters are dropped, or whenever a new vial of test strips is received as faulty systems can lead to disasters. Moreover, the UniDose package ensures that users have a fresh control sample when they need it. “We are pleased to provide a unique product that can improve patient adherence and medical outcomes. UniDose places control solutions into patients’ hands when and where they need it. We believe the correct use of control solutions lets patients manage their diabetes better,” said Michael H. Thomas, Bionostics’ President & CEO.
Randy Byrd, Chief Technical Officer, said, “This award confirms that Bionostics has created an exceptional product that will benefit both our manufacturer customers and the ultimate end user. Bionostics is honored to have received this award for our UniDose™ Glucose Meter Check™ Control product, and we look forward to continuing to serve the diabetes community.”
